Dr. Nikhil Dixit is a Cardiothoracic surgeon who prioritizes patient well-being and pursues excellence in cardiac surgery. Raised in a family of healthcare professionals, his passion for medicine was ignited early on. Studying at GSS Pre university college, he earned excellent academic accolades. Dr. Nikhil furthered his medical education at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, obtaining MBBS and MS (General Surgery) degrees.
Specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery, he pursued a Master of Chirurgiae at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. During this tenure, he presented various papers and posters including research at national and local conferences, on topics such as valvular heart disease, aortic aneurysms, and coronary reimplantation techniques. He also presented an award paper at IACTSON 2021. He conducted a significant 5-year study on coronary artery bypass grafting patients, published in the European Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Nikhil served as an Assistant Professor at NIMS, dedicating over two years to teaching and refining his skills.
Dr. Nikhil is proficient in Coronary Bypass procedures, Valve surgery and Thoracic surgery. His further interests include Minimal Access surgery/Robotics, LVADs, and Heart & Lung Transplants.
Outside medicine, Dr. Nikhil enjoys literature, the guitar and cricket. He writes columns on cardiac surgery & cardiac surgeons. Dr. Nikhil's journey reflects his commitment to medicine, thirst for knowledge, and diverse personal interests.
